Terrifying “dragon” discovered in Australia
In a startling discovery, PhD Candidate, Tim Richards, from the University of Queensland in Australia, analyzed the fossil of a jaw, discovered on Wanamara Country, near Richmond in North West Queensland. It is the largest specimen of flying reptile ever discovered in Australia. This truly “terrible lizard” would have been a frightening predator, taking advantage of its air power and thirty-foot wingspan to annihilate ground-bound creatures. Hard to know who to root for
According to Anxiety House, Arachnophobia, fear of spiders, and Ophidiophobia, fear of snakes, are the two most common phobias. So, when you have a case of spider vs. serpent, who do you root for? It is said that Australia is the land where everything in nature wants to kill you. One such example is the Redback spider Latrodectus hasselti-Australian Redback Spider. Photo by Don Horne. The article cited below gives more detail about how snakes are captured and killed in this tiny spider’s web. If you have a…

I can’t see your wings
The photo at the top of this article is a Facebook post I did earlier today. The comments actually lined up perfectly to discuss what this means to me. Remember, though, that I’m a seeker like you. I know some stuff, but I don’t know everything. It’s not really about what I think, but about you, thinking. The cartoon makes it clear that caterpillars and butterflies don’t necessarily speak the same language. That makes sense to me. The butterfly has gone through a complete transformation, with a change of mission, diet, capabilities. It is a one-way threshold. So, naturally, the butterfly would have no reason to interact with the caterpillar.…

Dowsing on the rise in California
Coast to Coast AM reports that due to the drought in California, that many are turning to dowsing to find water. Dowsing is using the motion of tools such as a Y-shaped stick, L-shaped rods, or pendulums, to find information. In the case of the “water witches,” dowsing is used to find the right locations to dig wells. Traditionally, the dowser will wander the property with a Y-shaped stick and, when they approach the right spot, the stick will dip down, as if attracted to the spot. Dowsing can be used for other purposes as well. Pendulum dowsing is used to find lost objects, answer questions and even connect with…

Is it me, or is it hot in here?
Current weather conditions bring back the memory of this day in 1929. The June 1, 1929 issue of the British newspaper, “The Sphere,” featured this photo with an eloquent caption. Journalists just don’t seem to have the same sense of poetry today.
